墨西哥政府23日举行新闻发布会，详细通报了抓捕并击毙贩毒集团头目的行动细节。22日，墨西哥武装部队在哈利斯科州塔帕尔帕市开展专项抓捕行动，与“哈利斯科州新生代”贩毒集团成员发生激烈交火，4名贩毒成员当场身亡，另有3人受伤后在运至首都墨西哥城救治途中死亡，其中就包括该团伙头目内梅西奥·塞万提斯。目前，有关部门正开展法医鉴定程序，正式确认其身份。
